Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

I am in the DOG HOUSE!!!!!!!

I made Maurine go up to Park City to be above the muck, she got all ambitious on me and ran from her house in Midvale to mine in Cottonwood Heights, about 4 1/2 miles of up hill.  We drive up to Park City and it was foggy and raining and cold and the trail was full of snow that was not packed down, it was like running in....in SNOW!  It was tough, thank goodness Maurine has had a big mileage week and didn't have a set number of miles she wanted to run, so I whimped out early.  4 miles and I was soaked and tired and SO DONE.  We did see a fox in the field, about a 100 ft. away from us that just stared at us, I was really surprised Odee didn't go after him. They just looked at each other,  I wonder how Odee knew not to go after him, he chases all the dogs.  Good thing, he could have had rabies or something.  Anyway,we stopped and got Starbucks hot chocolate and came home. As we drove down the canyon we saw the valley, blue skys and NO MUCK!!! Maurine is not going to let me live this one down.  We could have had a great long run on the Porter Rockwell trail and been dry and warm. Oh, well.    We got to my house and I was going to drive her home and she insisted on running home, yuck, all wet and cold, after being in the warm car, I don't know how she mustered up the will power to get out and run more.  Check her miles for the week. She is going to do SO good on her first 50 miler in March.  I feel pretty whimpy today.

That is an AWESOME story! I am sorry your plans pooped out! Maurine is a tough cookie so I am sure she will love you again soon ;)

Have a fun weekend! I am going to be a slacker and stay home :)

Well, since Leslie admitted most of her mistakes - I don't have to put them in my post. (WUSSSY).

She forgot to mention she owes me $3 for her potty mouth. I'm going to be rich if I can get her to pay up.

Thanks Les! (Hopefully the fox pictures (not the one of you LOL) turn out)

WUSSY!!!

My mom told me to say that :P

How cool about the fox though!

Les - my sister did join Desert Sharks and that is the nutrition seminar she is going to. I told her to take good notes for us.

Maurine and Jen, Yes! Compared to Maurine the Womanimal ( I love that Smooth!), I am a total WUSS! I came home and jumped in bed to sleep, #1 because I am tired and #2 so I wouldn't stuff my chubby little cheeks, I am so hungry and feeling like I need FOOD, you girls on the the blog with your talk of ice cream, and cheeseburgers and whoppers are not helping one little bit!! :)

Hey, I had a mushroom burger and steak fires at Red Robin last night, a little bit of popcorn and hot tamales at the movie, and then a huge double scoop waffle cone at Baskin Robbins after the movie. Do you wonder why I do not lose weight?????

I wondered if you two would still drive up there today! Bummer about the run, but such is life!!! Tarzan is TARZAN, so she took care of herself and you got a great nap!

Awesome job on the NOT eating desert last night! You do have willpower! AMAZINGLY, I still have 10 flex points left for today---I have stayed in my points AND eaten like crap. I do not think that is a good idea!!!

Have a good weekend!

What a story!!! Isn't that just the way life is. The ONE day that the valley's not smoggy, Park City got the foggy. It's like Murphy's law. At least you got out there and made the effort. Thank heavens Tarzan still loves you. :)
