Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Harold and I got up at 4:30 am to get ready for the SLC Marathon Bicycle Tour. I dropped him off at the U and then came home and got dressed and  then went down to the Gateway to pick him up. He did great and had a fun time. He said he was pretty tired, he hasn't been able to train so this was his first big ride of the season.

After we got home I told him I was going to run to Julie's new apt. down in Midvale and he said why don't you jump on the marathon route and run on the course. GREAT IDEA!  I actually did it last year and I had forgotten how much fun it was.  Harold dropped me off at the Corporate Center and I ran from the Cottonbottom Bar down to Liberty Park. 9 miles.  It was great, music, aid stations and the motivation from the crowd.  After I got to the park I walked around for another mile waiting for Harold to pick me up. I was super happy with my time for a 9 mile training run.

WOW!! Look at that pace! You are a speedy chicka! The tour sounds like it was fun!

NICE!!! I need to learn how to do that. Long runs with aid stations and people cheering me on...YOU are a STAR :) Great job on the run, I didn't do that part, but the 1/2 was great too! Hope to see you soon.

Great job on the run today, Les! It was nice talking with you and having a break from work for a bit.

Let me know if you want to meander around Wheeler Farm tomorrow. I will probably run to the office and back and maybe do some miles there during a break.

I had no idea you could poach the marathon trail...That would have been so fun to be there. Marion and I ran the Provo Canyon Saturday. Nice easy 17 miler. The weather was great. P.S. only the coolest runners have 410 miles by April 18th :)
