Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Spooky slot canyon

Harold and I and our friends Ernie and Gary hiked Spooky and Peekaboo just outside of Escalante.  Spooky was amazing, it was a 1/2 mile of a very narrow slot canyon.  I just about had a panic attack in the middle of it, but Harold talked me through it.  The sky was alittle threatening and I had visions of a flash flood.  We also hiked Peekaboo. It was probably most interesting hike I have ever done.  It was a perfect weekend.

What a fun and beautiful hike! You really hike some awesome places! Thanks for sharing the beautiful pics. I'll have to check out Spooky and Peekaboo one of these days!

Smooth you are the perfect size for a slot canyon!!!! I had to turn sideways and suck in and I still got scratched up. Harold's pants were so ripped up he had to throw them away!!! Good Times!!
