Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

Another day in the gym, I am sick of this inversion and want to move to St. George!!  I think it is a runners paradise, in the winter anyway.  My cousin just bought a home and showed me where the key is hidden and said I can go any time.  So my question is....why am I here??

Anyway I did 1/2 my miles on the treadmill and 1/2 on the eliptical.  I should have stayed and worked out longer but there is a chance I will have to go up to Snowbird and work today, so I need to get all gussied up.

Yesterdays nutrition was pretty good, I think I was thinking about food too much and ate too much, even though it was all healthy choices.  Today I am working on healthy choices and portions!!!  I am going to have a good week!

I feel your pain. I asked David last night if we could move! Since I lost weight,i can't stand the cold. I am freezing ALL the time. What will happen to me when I lose 25 more? I'll DIE!!

About the nutrition- that is what I love about the new Momentum Plan by WW. It has you focus on the Filling Foods (Core Foods) and count the points- portion control. Good stuff. You are going to do GREAT! Once the anxiety passes, you'll leave many of the "eating too much" episodes behind you :) Just keep at it. Eating the right amount is a skill and the only way to develop a skill is to just do it! You'll have it down in no time :)

Good job on the working out. I can still feel the inversion from my hill workout today.

Keep strong and avoid junk!

From leslie on Wed, Jan 21, 2009 at 11:16:22

You are going to get lung cancer! Work out in the gym!!!!

Yes mam no junk today!!!

Alright- they always say stay in doors, but what i want to know- Where do "they" think the air from "in-doors" comes from??? Is there magic air in the house? :D

From leslie on Wed, Jan 21, 2009 at 11:40:44

good question, now I am really confused, does anyone know the answer to that?

From Marion on Wed, Jan 21, 2009 at 11:42:13

I believe the asthma people recommend no hard exertions during an inversion at all for people with asthma. For the rest of us poos saps- who knows! 8)

Heck - with my family history I am going to die of cancer anyway. At least I will be a nice looking corpse.

From Kelli on Wed, Jan 21, 2009 at 13:55:11

It is weird what happens when you THINK about food too much. I totally hate that!

The news yesterday said to avoid all outdoor exercise until the inversion is gone, no matter who you are. But since when do we listen????

From Marion on Wed, Jan 21, 2009 at 13:59:41

They were saying that on the news and showing a bunch of runners :D GO TEAM WIN!!

From tarzan on Wed, Jan 21, 2009 at 14:01:48

I've also read articles that say you shouldn't run marathons, etc. But I agree with Kelli (or Kellli - or whoever she is) - I don't listen to the news....

GOOD JOB with the healthy choices. How ironic is that we try to stay healthy by eating and exercising and end up dying of lung cancer. Let's all move to Hawaii in the winter.

Great to meet you here in sunny STG!! You must move here, its good for your health.

From leslie on Fri, Jan 23, 2009 at 13:54:49

I would move in a heartbeat, but my hubby won't budge! It was nice to meet you too. We will have to all meet up again soon, it was so much fun. I feel cheated, I didn't get to talk to everyone enough. What a fun bunch of people we all are!!! :) Enjoy your blue skys and the beautiful desert scenery and warmth!!!
