Personal:

I started running at age 40 (14 years ago!)  I am married to Harold, he is a super supportive husband and we enjoy running and biking the trails along the Wasatch Front together. Between us we have 7 children and 9 grandchildren.  I am really having fun trying new races in scenic parts of Utah, I am a newbie in the ultrarunning world, I am slow, but love everything about it!  I have a lot to learn, but I am enjoying the journey.

5 miles at the Olympic Oval, planned on doing more, but went alone and got bored.

I decided to stop being so wimpy about the cold and ran up to Bywater Park and back, still only 2 miles, so I guess I am still a big woose.

I hate the cold too! The oval is a great alternative. At least you don't get dizzy!

Sorry I missed you Th, I wimped out and did the TM instead of the turkey trot.

Rach, did you register? I would be happy to pick up your shirt. We looked for you,I knew you would stick out in the crowd!! How was your Thanksgiving? What is your next race? I hope you are doing well.

No, I never did. I was going to do same day registration, but when I saw it was only going to be 5 degrees I decided to bag it. I also didn't want to drive so far across town in the bitter cold with ice pockets still on the road. Thanksgiving was great! It was probably better as well that I stuck close to home, because my MIL had dinner at 11:30 so I didn't have much time in the morning and I may have had to miss the raffle :)

My next race is Painters, got the hotel book and I'm ready to go. I now just need to find out if Craig is going to be able to come with me or if I'm going to be running with a jogging stroller!

I am glad you had a nice Thanksgiving!

I am registered for Painters too, but am not sure if I will actually run it, I will watch the weather and decide. I have a place to stay and I have a free entry, so it is looking pretty good right now. My last 3 races have been pretty bad, so I am not excited about Painters, but I need to get over this slump. St. George in the winter is always a plus, so we will see.

Honestly, I'm feeling the same way. I guess I'm a tad happy that if I have to push the jogger then I'll have an excuse to not train and PR :)

You should have called me! I almost did the oval too - instead I did the dreadmill until I had to babysit.

I only decided to go this morning, and I thought of you and decided I shouldn't call on such late notice, next time I will! I would have loved your company and we could have gotten in way more miles! I am so dumb!
